I was looking for some blogging software, and after going through the usual suspects I stumbled upon Octopress. It’s described as a blogging framework for hackers and is based on Jekyll. So far it looks pretty good. I am hosting this on Github Pages, you could just as easily use the deploy scripts for Heroku or just rsync the generated static content to any webserver. I plugged into Disqus for the commenting engine.

What better way to test the codeblock tag!

#include <stdio.h>

int main(int argc, char **argv)
{
  printf("hello, world\n");
  return 0;
}

Output:

hello, world

You can just as easily embed gists.
